The Pacific Coast Exchange Club hosted the First Annual Veterans Day for the City of Garden Grove, Saturday November 6th at the Garden Grove Elks Lodge Park.   Organized by Co-Chairs Kay Kearney and Don Taylor, a full day of activities including presentations by dignitaries, reading of names of fallen service men and women from Camp Pendleton and Afghanistan this year, ELKS BBQ, live bands, booths, and other entertainment.   Key supporters included In-n-out, Widdicombe Enterprises, Coastline College, Clever Care Health Plan,  Cal Vet, North Junior ROTC Color Guard, and Garden Grove Scout Troop #1103, and others.   Over 200 guests came to honor these brave men and women who gave selflessly to serve and protect the foundations are country was built on. We united with all military around the world to give our love, and respect. Every Veteran in attendance was provided free lunch of Smoked Tri Tip.

Oldest Veteran in attendance is Navy Retired Master Chief James Louis Angeley Jr. was recognized for his World War II service and will have his 98th birthday this coming December 30th.  His daughter said he had tears when he heard he was in attendance and the audience gave him a standing ovation. He is pictures with Assemblywoman Janet Nguyen.

We heard from many Veterans that attended and visited the Veterans Resources booths, several received information on services, housing and healthcare. Many said they were unaware these benefits were available to them. We will sure that everyone knows of your gift!!
